Atomic Sports columnist and NBA guru Nick Kanios' first attempt at a blog didn't go too well. Sure, like the Atlanta Hawks, there were some highlights, but they came a bit too infrequently. So now, with another NBA draft upon us and in the middle of an enormously exciting offseason, Nick's giving things another shot.

Blogged Down in the Details
A large portion of life is trial and error. Like a lot of my firsts, my first blog didn’t go quite as I planned. I have this tendency to bite off more then I can chew, and “The Shot Clock” turned out to be more work then I imagined. In hindsight, “Three in the Key” would have made more sense, where I could talk about three topics during the week as opposed to 24. Now the product itself I’m actually proud of, I think there was some good stuff there, but I updated way too infrequently. I treated the blog as if it were a column, put in too much work throughout the week and my content would end up being semi out of date, and I would just scrap the whole thing for the week.

So what does this have to do with you, or what you’re reading, or anything at all?

I’m glad you asked.

I’m a little older, wiser, and really motivated to make this blog thing work. I just needed an idea. I’d like to say it was some light bulb epiphany thing I got while on the toilet, but it didn’t go down like that. I just realized, wow, there is NBA news EVERYDAY, even in the off-season. I mean, Lord, this off-season has been more interesting than the playoffs.

So why not to a blog with more frequent updates simply responding to the recent news? Basically, I want to do less research and just spout out whatever garbage comes to my mind. I’m hoping to appeal to the hardcore NBA fans that need to see some sort of reaction right when the big news strikes. And I’m hoping casual fans will scan once a week looking for something funny/interesting.

So if you are curious as to how the blog will look, here is the first entry.

Check back regularly, as we'll be keeping the NBA info fresh throughout the offseason with multiple updates each week.
