So, the draft is in the books. Some owners are thrilled, some are concerned, and some are wondering what the hell just happened. So, here’s a quick look at how each team came together, and what the owners have to say about the draft results. (You can CLICK HERE to check out ASM's owner profiles first or you can CLICK HERE to check out how the draft played out.) Jon Bellwood QB: Jon Kitna RB: LaDanian Tomlinson RB: Thomas Jones WR: Donald Driver WR: Joey Galloway FLEX: Deuce McAllister TE: Bo Sciafe K: Jeff Wilkins DST: Chargers Bench: Jamal Lewis, Fred Taylor, Dwayne Jarrett, Drew Carter, Steve McNair, Ben Roethlisberger Q&A Did your pre-draft strategy work out? I missed the first few rounds so it just went on auto, which worked out quite well, as I ended up with LT. I did, however, draft too many running backs and not enough WRs in the opening rounds as a consequence of this. Once I arrived, after getting the time wrong and dealing with the modem from hell I tried to just get the best value I could! Were there any surprises? That Jon Kitna was sat waiting for me in the ninth, I think that’s a steal! I’m also surprised at some other QBs that were left waiting towards the very end. I picked up Big Ben late on as a backup. I know he threw way too many INTs last year but the man had just nearly killed himself! I reckon he’s ripe for a good season this year. What do you see as your team’s strengths and weaknesses? I think running backs definitely have to be the strength of my team, with LT, Deuce McAllister, Thomas Jones in the starting line-up and Fred Taylor alongside Jamal Lewis on the bench. Although with Kitna, Big Ben and Steve McNair QB is looking good too! Who was your best pick? Best pick: LT but for value I think Jon Kitna in the ninth round. Who was your worst pick? Worst pick was my TE, Bo Scaife. I’ve never heard of him and mainly picked him as his name was Bo and he seemed the best of a bad bunch. Who do you think had the best pick in the draft? Whoever got Peyton Manning! Whose pick had you shaking your head the most? Someone selecting Rex Grossman, that’s a bad call, someone in the draft room. I believe referred to him as the noodle arm. Seems about right. Look at his performance against the Colts, ouch! Who do you think had the best draft? Andy is certainly looking a dangerous team. I’m quite glad I’m not in that conference. Whose team do you think is the worst to start the season? Not sure where the editor’s going with his selections, so I’ve got to say David Hale, but I have to trash talk him. He’s going to get a sound beating in week one! |
