I remember attending a Phillies game at Veteran’s Stadium in the late summer of 1997. I can’t remember the exact date, but suffice it to say the Phillies were long since out of contention for a post-season appearance.

The Worm, The Fridge, His Airness, Sweetness, Ditka, Shoeless Joe, Da Bears, Da Bulls.  Let’s face it.  Love it or hate it, Chicago is hands down the best sports city in America.

On a warm summers evening more than 43,000 fans packed SBC Park.  From blocks away sports bars were packed with fans waiting on the edge of their seats.  Hundreds flooded McCovey Cove in boats, rafts and anything that would float.

F.B. Zinckle once said "Boston is often called the 'hub of the world,' since it has been the source and fountain of the ideas that have reared and made America."
Today, looking back, it can be argued that Boston is also the “hub of the sports world” as well.

The repetitive, yet, extremely catchy theme song from the “Drew Carey Show” is accurate, both literally and figuratively. Home of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland most definitely rocks in a "put another dime in the jukebox, baby” kind of way.
